Chris “Lights Out” Lytle is an American former mixed-martial-arts fighter and professional boxer, best known as a longtime UFC welterweight and crowd-pleaser. A twenty-fight UFC veteran, Lytle earned multiple post-fight bonuses and finished his career with a submission win over Dan Hardy in 2011 before retiring from competition. He is also a career firefighter from Indiana and remains active in combat-sports media. Born in Indianapolis (1974), Lytle competed professionally in MMA from 1999 to 2011 and boxed between 2002 and 2005. He fought in major organizations—including the UFC, Pancrase, Cage Rage, and the WEC—and is remembered for an action-first style, strong boxing, and a deep submission game. Within the UFC he logged 20 appearances and earned multiple “Fight of the Night,” “Submission of the Night,” and “Knockout of the Night” bonuses. He retired after defeating Dan Hardy by guillotine choke at UFC on Versus 5 (Aug. 14, 2011).
